Survivors of Suicide Loss


  • American Foundation for Suicide Prevention—Surviving Suicide Loss: Reaches out to survivors of suicide with two goals in mind:
    1) to offer the support that is so vital, particularly to the newly bereaved; and 2) to provide opportunities for survivors to get involved, through a wide variety of educational, outreach, awareness, advocacy and fundraising programs.

 

  • American Association of Suicidology: Special section dedicated to understanding the issues of survivors of suicide and incorporating these in suicide prevention efforts. They also have an advocacy program, which helps educate the public, change the way people think and talk about suicide and mental illness.

 

 

 

 

  • Suicide Awareness Voices of Education (SAVE)—Coping With Loss: One of the nation’s first organizations dedicated to the prevention of suicide and co-founding member of the National Council for Suicide Prevention; based on the belief that suicide should no longer be considered a hidden or taboo topic, and that through raising awareness and educating the public, we can SAVE lives.
